Community Guidelines
SpotFix only works if the community keeps it useful, accurate, and respectful. These rules apply to every report, photo, and comment.
Do
- • Report real, current civic / workplace / property issues.
- • Take a clear photo of the actual problem.
- • Use accurate location.
- • Upvote existing reports instead of duplicating.
- • Be respectful in comments and titles.
- • Mark issues resolved when fixed.
Don't
- • Submit fake, joke, or test reports.
- • Upload nudity, violence, gore, or hate symbols.
- • Photograph identifiable people without consent.
- • Name or harass individuals or businesses.
- • Spam reports, votes, or comments.
- • Use the platform for emergencies — call 911 instead.
Photo rules
Every uploaded photo is automatically screened by AI before publication. Photos containing nudity, sexual content, graphic violence, gore, hate symbols, illegal-drug use, minors as the primary subject, or completely off-topic content (selfies, memes, food) will be blocked. Photos of graffiti or mild vandalism are allowed when clearly being reported as the issue.
Privacy of others
Avoid capturing faces, license plates, or private property interiors when possible. If a person is incidentally in the photo, that's fine. Don't upload photos taken inside someone's private home or workplace without consent unless you're the resident/employee reporting your own issue.
Flagging & moderation
Anyone signed in can flag a report. After 3 distinct flags, the report is automatically hidden from public view pending admin review. Admins can dismiss the flag (restore the report) or uphold it (remove permanently). Repeated bad-faith flagging will get your account suspended.
Rate limits
To prevent abuse, each account is limited to 20 new reports, 60 upvotes, and 30 comments per hour. Hitting the limit means slowing down — not a ban.
Consequences
Violations may result in content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent account termination. Severe abuse (illegal content, harassment, doxxing) may be reported to authorities.
