Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or submitting a report on SpotFix.ca ("SpotFix", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

2. What SpotFix is

SpotFix is a community platform for reporting civic, workplace, and property issues (e.g. potholes, broken streetlights, graffiti). Public reports may appear on a public map. Private reports are visible only to you, assigned parties, and SpotFix moderators.

3. Eligibility & accounts

• You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure.
• One person, one account. No bots, scrapers, or automated submissions.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: submit false or misleading reports; harass individuals; upload images containing nudity, violence, hate symbols, or off-topic content; defame any person or business; violate any law; or attempt to abuse, overload, or reverse-engineer the platform. 5. Rate limits & moderation

We limit submissions per user per hour to prevent spam (currently 20 reports, 60 upvotes, 30 comments). All photos are screened by automated AI moderation before publication. Reports flagged by 3 or more users are auto-hidden pending admin review. We may remove content or suspend accounts at our discretion.

6. Your content

You retain ownership of photos and text you submit. By submitting, you grant SpotFix a worldwide, royalty-free license to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform and in aggregated/anonymized statistics. You confirm you have the right to share each photo and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

7. No guarantee of resolution

SpotFix routes reports to municipalities, employers, or property managers via your own email client. We don't guarantee any third party will act on a report. SpotFix is not a substitute for emergency services — for emergencies call 911.

8. Disclaimers

SpotFix is provided "as-is" without warranties of any kind. AI-generated size estimates and image classifications are approximations and may be wrong. We are not liable for damages arising from your use of the platform, to the maximum extent allowed by Canadian law.

9. Termination

You may delete your account anytime from your profile. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated version. Material changes will be announced in-app.
